Pollinator-Friendly Front Yard Transformation
Local Residence
Goal
The homeowner wanted to replace a traditional, lawn-heavy front yard with a pollinator-friendly garden that still felt welcoming, intentional, and manageable.
Challenges
Full sun exposure and compacted soil. Desire for native plants without an overgrown look. Low-maintenance expectations.
Solution
I designed a layered planting plan using native perennials, ornamental grasses, and flowering plants chosen for long bloom periods and habitat value. The design followed a 'right plant, right place' approach to ensure long-term success and seasonal interest.
Outcome
The garden now supports bees, butterflies, and birds throughout the growing season while remaining visually cohesive and approachable. The client gained confidence maintaining the space and plans to expand the garden over time.
