Growing in Kent County
The Grand River runs through Grand Rapids, and Kent County's ground ranges from sandy, quick-draining soil to heavier loam and clay, often in the same neighborhood. City lots bring their own conditions: compacted soil, reflected heat from pavement and shade from buildings and street trees. A site visit sorts out which you have, so natives and perennials go where they'll thrive.
For businesses here
Downtown storefronts and restaurants, offices and medical buildings, apartment communities and HOAs across the suburbs: entrance plantings, seasonal display programs, native conversions of little-used lawn and garden care keep them looking cared for.

Seasonal Annual Displays
Seasonal annual color is one of my favorite things to design. A few recent displays from my own landscape and client projects: a shade container with begonias, a summer trough overflowing with sweet potato vine and petunias, a planted window box, and lakeside deck planters. Each one is planted for the season and chosen for its site.

Questions from Kent County
Do you work in Grand Rapids?
Yes. Grand Rapids and the rest of Kent County are in our service area, for homes and businesses.
Can a consultation be virtual?
Yes. Consultations are on-site or virtual, which works well for a first conversation about a property farther from Richland.
Do you build patios, walls or walkways?
No. Everything we do is plants: design, soil, planting, mulch and care. If your project needs hardscape, we can plan the planting around it and work alongside your contractor.
